The Rev. Madeline Carassco Henners to Address WCA’s Third Global Gathering

The Wesleyan Covenant Association is very happy to announce that the Rev. Madeline Carassco Henners will speak at its Third Global Gathering at Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church in Marietta, Georgia on Saturday, November 3, 2018.

“Madeline is a reminder that the fullness of the Wesleyan message of holiness of heart and life is just as powerful and effective today as ever,” said the Rev. Dr. Jeff Greenway, senior pastor at Reynoldsburg UM Church in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. “Her personal story of transformation is compelling, and a reminder that we do not need to change or water down our message for it to be relevant today.”

Carassco Henners address, “Unashamed of the Future for Methodism,” is part of the Gathering’s “Unashamed!” theme. The event is expected to attract thousands of United Methodists across the connection.

A United Methodist elder in the Rio Texas Annual Conference, Carassco Henners received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, and her Masters of Divinity from Duke Divinity School in Durham, North Carolina. She is currently working on her doctoral degree at United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. She recently authored a 30-day devotional challenge as part of her doctoral project called, “Ascending the Mountain,” which guides participants into a deeper relationship with God and increased ability to hear God’s voice.

Carassco Henners has served on the WCA Council since its inception, and she currently serves on its executive committee.

“What strikes me most about Madeline is her all-out willingness to go where Jesus leads,” said the Rev. Dr. Carolyn Moore, lead pastor at Mosaic Church in Evans, Georgia. “Her story is a testament to the power of the Holy Spirit in a life. From progressive to Spirit-filled orthodox leader, from pastor to student to mover-and-shaker, Madeline follows the call of Christ faithfully and passionately. She inspires me.”

Carassco Henners desires to continue growing in her ability to hear God’s voice, especially as it helps others come to Christ. She wants to help people discover the amazing love God has for them and the supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit offered to all God’s children.

A native Texan, Carassco Henners grew up in the Rio Grande Valley. In 2007, she married her husband, David, who was born and raised in Liverpool, England. An architect by trade, David is an amazing ministry and prayer partner. Together, they seek to serve the Lord with all that they are.
