Beyond These Walls

The Wesleyan Covenant Association is excited to announce that in lieu of its Global Gathering it will be encouraging members of the WCA to attend Beyond These Walls from April 27-29, 2023 at The Woodlands Methodist Church outside of Houston, Texas. Beyond These Walls is a missions-focused conference helping to equip and inspire churches to get beyond their walls and carry the mission of Jesus’ church into their neighborhood and world. Registration is now open. You can click here to register. Registration fees increase after April 1, 2023.

The Global Methodist Church is the lead sponsor for this inaugural event and the WCA is honored to join it as a sponsor as well. At its 2022 Global Legislative Assembly, the WCA adopted a new mission statement that included continuing to support the launch of the Global Methodist Church. Toward that end, the WCA Global Council has chosen to make Beyond These Walls its focus for gathering like-minded Wesleyans in 2023.

The WCA’s Global Legislative Assembly will be virtual this year and details concerning the assembly (dates and delegates) will be shared with WCA regional chapters in the very near future. With the paragraph 2553 disaffiliation process ending later this year, the WCA’s Global Council determined that the limited agenda of the Global Legislative Assembly could be handled over the internet.

Beyond These Walls has curated an impressive line-up of speakers and teachers. The keynote speakers include noted author and Christian leader Danielle Strickland, pastor and author David Platt, and leader of the Africa Initiative (as well as WCA Global Council member) Jerry Kulah. Many workshops are already planned with some of the best and brightest teachers of missions available. We encourage you to check them out here.

The WCA hopes to see you at Beyond These Walls. We pray you will consider bringing a team from your church as you seek to move boldly into a future of making disciples of Jesus Christ that worship passionately, love extravagantly, and witness boldly.

The Rev. Jay Therrell is president of the Wesleyan Covenant Association and an ordained elder in the Global Methodist Church.
