Dear Friend of the Wesleyan Covenant Association,
I hope this letter finds you well, happy, and healthy.
As you know, the Wesleyan Covenant Association (WCA) has concluded its work with churches in the United States seeking to realign their faith. We are now operating with a small executive team that focuses on assisting our brothers and sisters overseas, especially in navigating the challenges they face when leaving the United Methodist Church. Thousands have successfully joined the Global Methodist Church and other traditional churches. However, some are encountering serious obstacles, including violence, false accusations and arrests by local authorities.
It is in this context that we reach out to you for help. Our faithful brothers and sisters in Liberia are currently undergoing similar challenges as they move forward with leaving the United Methodist Church and aligning with the Global Methodist Church and other traditional denominations. Tragically, this has led to violent confrontations and, in some cases, police involvement. Several pastors and WCA leaders have even been jailed for their steadfast faith and commitment to God’s Word.
The WCA executive team is eager to assist our Liberian brothers and sisters, but we need financial support. We believe that, together, we can make a significant difference in their efforts to stand firm in their faith amidst such persecution. In fact, the WCA may be the only means through which funds can be safely gathered and transferred to Liberia at this time.
We are humbly asking for your financial support, as well as your prayers for our brothers and sisters in Liberia who are enduring hardship for the sake of God’s truth. Your contribution, whether large or small, will go directly toward helping them navigate this crisis.
